Our name, “Twisby,” stands for “The Way It Should Be, Yes?” stemming from a conversation we had when we first started this company. We said if we’re gonna do this, we’re going to do it right, and the artist comes first always. We want to set the new standard of how our industry should be. So lets create something special.

Fast Turnaround

Fast Turnaround With Rush Options available as well (See FAQ for more info)

Our turnaround time varies based on availability and workload. We offer rush options at checkout for projects that need to be delivered within 48 hours. On average, our current turnaround time is:

  • 2 to 4 business days for mastering
  • 5 to 7 business days for mixing
  • 5 to 10 business days for mixing and mastering (bundled)

Please note that these are estimates per song and may vary by a few days. We understand that as an artist, you may be eager to get your songs back as soon as possible. However, we want to ensure that every song we work on receives the attention and care it deserves. This process takes time, but we believe that it results in a better final product. If you don’t have a specific deadline, don’t worry about our turnaround time. In the meantime, you can always talk to us about release plans and strategies.

If you do have a label or TV/film sync deadline, our rush option may be a good fit for you. Please note that we only recommend the rush option for true deadlines and not for general expediency.

At Twisby, we take a number of factors into consideration when determining our pricing for our services. Our team is highly skilled and experienced, and we take the time required to complete each project into account when setting our rates. In addition, we use a dynamic pricing model, which means that our prices may fluctuate based on the current demand for our services. Please note that both our highest and our current prices can be found on our product pages.

Yes, we do offer discounts at Twisby on a case-by-case basis. Some things that may qualify you for a discount include being a veteran, being willing to wait a little longer for the final product, being a returning client, or planning to have an album or EP mixed and/or mastered with us (4 or more songs). We also sometimes offer discounts due to special circumstances. If you are interested in inquiring about a discount, don’t hesitate to reach out to us via the contact button at the bottom of the page or the chat icon at the bottom right. We will do our best to accommodate your request.

We accept a variety of payment methods at Twisby, both online and offline.

Offline, we accept cash app, venmo, bank transfers, credit and debit cards, and Apple Pay. Our offline checkout is powered by Quickbooks. If you’d prefer to use Quickbooks rather than our online portal, please feel free to reach out to us using the contact us button or the chat icon on the bottom right of the page.

Rest assured that your payment information is always kept safe and secure when working with us at Twisby

After you purchase our service we will reach out to you and provide you a direct link to our Dropbox account, as well as Walk you through your DAW specific process. If you have purchased, but lost our email with directions, please email john@twisbyrecords.com or click the “Contact Us” Button at the bottom of this page.

All of the services we offer are remote. We do not do in person sessions, but we are currently working on a solution to Remotely collaborate during the final part of the process. This feature should be available in the near future.

At Twisby Records, we understand that mixing and mastering is a subjective art form, and we hold our engineers to the highest standards to deliver the best service on every order. However, we also know that sometimes, despite our best efforts, the final result may not fully capture your vision or meet your expectations. We take this very seriously, and want to do everything we can to make it right.

That’s why we offer 5 free revisions (See Revisions policy under “Do you offer revisions?” in the FAQ below) and a direct phone line to our head engineer throughout the entire process. If you are still not satisfied after all revisions have been made, we will discuss options with you and do our best to find a resolution that works for you. Depending on the circumstances, we may offer a refund or partial refund on a case-by-case basis. We are committed to ensuring that you are satisfied with the final product and that your music truly comes to life in a way that captures your vision and moves your listeners.

Refunds may be subject to contract, to prevent the release of works refunded, and protect from abuse of the policy.

We work with all Genres. Every Genre has it’s unique challenges, and we love challenges. Whether it be that massive low end in hip hop and edm, or a crispy, thick guitar in rock and punk, our engineers have the tools, and the experience to do it all. Although we do have the most experience with Rock, Punk, Hip hop/Rap, Pop, and Country. We’re all music lovers, just as I’m sure you are, and we listen to and work with a very wide variety of genres.

We do not, but we do have recommendations.

The service we use is Distrokid

Distrokid is affordable, and will distribute your music to all platforms (Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, Etc.) and has great tools, such as landing pages for presave and promotion campaigns (like Link Tree). In the independent and DIY musician era, its easier and cheaper to do your own distribution. While our link IS an affiliate link, it does offer a small discount, and we would only recommend something we personally use and approve of.

Some other options are CDBaby and Tunecore. There are more out there as well, just compare and see what works best for you. If you end up using our services, we advise you how to release (free of charge), if requested.

At Twisby, we’re dedicated to creating high-quality music that artists can be proud of. However, the path to perfection can sometimes encounter a curious obstacle known as ‘demoitis’ – an affliction where artists become overly attached to their demo’s sound, leading to an unending cycle of minor tweaks that fail to significantly enhance the piece. It’s a common occurrence that can prevent artists from hearing their music objectively and can impede creative growth.

To help navigate this phenomenon, we’ve established a revision policy. We believe in delivering the best quality work and supporting artists in their journey, hence we offer five free revisions for mixing and mastering. Generally, our clients find their satisfaction before using up these revisions. However, if further changes are required, we charge a nominal $20 fee for each additional revision.

This policy isn’t a money-making strategy but a preventive measure against ‘demoitis’. By encouraging a limit on free revisions, we prompt artists to make critical evaluations of their work and make purposeful, effective changes, rather than getting lost in endless  adjustments. Because, if you still don’t like an element after the 12th revision, then you probably didn’t like it in the the first, and you won’t like on the the 20th.

If you find yourself still dissatisfied after many revisions, it may signal a deeper issue that lies within the core production of the song. Revisiting the production phase might be a beneficial step in these instances, and we will gladly help you with this step as well, and give you our ears to suggest the steps to help you realize your goals.

Please note that our approach is flexible and individualized. We don’t count minor tweaks against your revision quota, and we always apply our policy on a case-by-case basis. We’re not in the business of counting revisions, but in helping you realize your musical vision to its fullest potential.

Our primary goal is to guide you in your decision-making, help you know when your song is ready to greet the world, and prevent ‘demoitis’ from taking root. Rest assured, your satisfaction and the quality of your music always take center stage in our studio.

Unless you request otherwise, we will keep your completed projects in storage for you indefinitely at Twisby. If you would like to make revisions to a completed project, we may charge a fee depending on the nature of the revision. If you are interested in requesting a revision, please reach out to us via the contact button or the chat icon at the bottom right of the page and we will be happy to discuss your options with you.
